Denmark
Ahh... Denmark – home to LEGO, Hans Christian Andersen, biking, Ozempic, and the
famous Danish concept hygge! While Denmark is known for many things, we hope you’ll
explore even more during your stay.
Geographically, Denmark consists of one large peninsula, Jutland (or Jylland in Danish),
and two major islands: Zealand (Sjælland) and Funen (Fyn). Plus, there are countless
smaller charming islands. The capital, Copenhagen (København), is located on Zealand
and is home to 640,000 inhabitants. On Jutland, you'll find vibrant cities like Aarhus
(367.095 inhabitants) and Aalborg (223.174 inhabitants), as well as the municipality of
Vejle (118.028 inhabitants) — where your student adventure kicks off. Over on Funen,
you'll find Odense (209.078 inhabitants), the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen.
Not sure where all these cities are located? Check out the map below!
